The 5 types of the Most Common and Popular Christmas Tree Decorations

One of the best things about Christmas is that it gives you an excuse to dress up your home with all of the lovely ornaments we associate with the holiday season.

With so many different types of Christmas ornaments and holiday decorations to choose from, it’s easy to just go with what you know and do the same thing every year. This winter, branch out and try something new!

Personally, I’ve always found great joy in holiday decorating and hanging my favorite ornaments – especially ornaments that have been gifted to me by loved ones! However, I’ve always found that I have the most fun when I try new things and decorate in new ways. There are so many types of ornaments.

To help broaden your holiday horizons, I’ve put together a brief list of the 5 most common and popular types of decorations for the Christmas tree. Hopefully, this list will help you come up with a few new ideas to decorate your Christmas tree.

  1. Glass ball ornaments are a classic Christmas tree tradition. Many people, still decorate their trees with these ornaments, also called baubles.

They are beautiful, but what happens if you have kids or pets at home? That may not be the best choice. These decorations often tend to break…

Especially when you drop one of these…

  • The ceramic decorations are beautiful too.

But they are breakable too – not the best choise either:

  • To help prevent these accidents, try switching to less breakable ornaments that are better for families who need to protect young ones from breaking glass. What about paper ornaments?

They don’t break like glass, but they can be easily torn apart, even when they only touch the needles of the tree. So, these are not the best choice too…

4. It’s time to switch it up from the same old Christmas decorations you use to adorn your tree every year. Red and green ball ornaments are timeless, but your tree could use a little refresh this holiday season. This new kind of silk satin Christmas ornaments that are shatterproof unbreakable and non-tearable.

  •  If you are tired of having ornaments fall from the tree and breaking then these ornaments are perfect for you. No need to worry about shattered ornaments or jagged glass pieces to pick up because these ornaments are CHILD, ELDERLY AND PET FRIENDLY. No more dangerous glass or mix ‘n match ornaments from leftovers.
  • These ornaments are ready to hang out with a pre-looped ribbon. They are also very lightweight and won’t weigh down the Christmas tree branches which allow for more decorations.

They’re not just beautiful—they’re also incredibly meaningful keepsakes.

5. And finely – I think DIY Christmas ornaments can be a more meaningful way to decorate your tree. (Especially if you can turn handmaking ornaments into a fun Christmas activity for the family and create memories together!)

Whether you’re already in the holiday spirit and can’t wait to get to work, or want to hold off on making them until you’ve picked out your tree, there’s never a wrong time to start thinking about what homemade Christmas ornaments you want to craft.
